Larisa, Greece


Larisa, is the capital of the Thessaly periphery of Greece. Larissa lies on the river Pineios. According to archaeological evidence, Larissa lies atop a site that has been inhabited since the tenth millennium BC. Legend has it that Achilles was born here and Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, died here. Nowadays, the city is probably one of the fastest developing cities in the country, rapidly changing into a metropolis for central Greece. A major commercial and industrial centre.
