Verona is an Italian ancient city in the Veneto region and the second largest after Venice. Verona is situated on the river Adige and the surrounding hills give the city a most romantic feeling. Maybe this is the reason Shakespeare chose Verona for the set of his Romeo and Juliet, although he never visited Verona.
