Kos, one of the Dodecanese. The ancient physician Hippocrates was born there. An island well-known for its spa-tourism. The main port on the island is the tourist and cultural centre, with whitewashed buildings including many hotels, restaurants and a number of nightclubs forming the famous Kos town "barstreet".
