Lesvos, in NE Aegean sea, the third biggest Greek island. Famous worldwide for its olives, olive oil and ouzo production. The island is forested and mountainous, and its volcanic origin is manifested in several hot springs and two principal volcanic harbors. Lesvos contains one of the few known petrified forests and has been declared a Protected Natural Monument
